International Meeting of Movie,
Television, Video and Multimedia – Avanca’99,
third edition.
“Light ... Cameras
... Action ...” – It does not happen
like that anymore!
Filming can already require so different orders
that the simple fact of attending a shooting does
not allow to interpret the ongoing work.
How can we date up the environment of a motion
picture shot if the whole setting is green? How
to expect the magic of the initial moment without
any track of the classic “clap”?
To look at the camera ... and not see the magazine
... To look for the microfone and hear to speak
about UHF.
To witness the explosion of the acting emerging
from the muteness of technology.
Having your breath cut without hearing the “pur”
of the camera.
To film and wait..., to film again and adapt step
by step for the post(in)-production.
Filming today means so many different solutions,
so many different framings, so many different
classifications, so many different groups, ...
One question ... What is Avanca’99?
A Movie Festival? Cinema? An enclave of immaterial
production? Fixed dates in the calendar?
Meeting whoever? Do you...? Could it be all this
together?
Could it just be that Avanca’99 means once
again “Light ... 1999... Action ...”?
