| The project
“In the sleuth of the Images - Commemorate
the Science / Revive Technologies” that
begins in the AVANCA’98, appears because
the indispensable support of the Unit Live
science of the Ministry of the Science and
Technology it was possible. We
looked in the history of the images for
moments that still today are present in
our contemporaneity. We also tried to establish
the bridge between two different times and
consequent technological epochs. This search
took us to the beginning of the picture
and from there to the pinhole picture.
A DEBATE
We will debate “The Technologies and
the Contemporary Communication versus the
Technological Archaeology of Images.”
Dr.Valentin Carrera from the Faculty of
Journalism of the Santiago de Compostela
University will moderate a debate where
the AVANCA’98 “Workshop”
leaders participate.
A WORKSHOP
The workshop “How to photograph a
Movies Museum with a Pinhole”, guided
by Jochen Dietrich and Aníbal Anibal
Lemos, it integrates and it is a nuclear
part of the SLEUTH OF THE IMAGES
An ENCOUNTER
Providing the encounter of Portuguese photographers
that use the “pinhole” technology,
we will gather them in one of the workdays
with the Workshop participants “How
to Photograph a Movies Museum with a Pinhole.”
António Teixeira, together with Ana
David, co-ordinates the materialisation
of good part of this whole project “pinhole.”
An EXHIBITION
In the Egas Moniz House-Museum, during the
meetings period, there will be en exhibition
of works from the authors António
Teixeira, Júlio Roriz and Leonel
de Castro. With the photos there will be
exposed the “pinhole” cameras
with that each one of the pictures was made.
And another EXHIBITION
A space enlarged for Jochen Dietrich's Portuguese
picture.
